American Legion Auxiliary Unit 147 metAugust 17, 2020
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 147 met Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. President Sherri Messier called the meeting to order, opening prayer was read by Chaplain Linda Trill, a moment of silence in memory of our fallen MIAs and POWs was observed, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary was recited.
The reading of the minutes was dispensed, with the motion to approve by Stacie Reuber and the second by Brenda Schnarr. All agreed. The treasurer report was given by Messier in the absence of Dorothy Ash.
Membership cards are in. Please pay as soon as possible. They would like to have 50% paid by September. The eighth district placed first in the state for membership.
As of now, the ALA will run everything the same for next year. All officers at all levels will keep their positions. The audit is done and taxes were filed for our unit. A motion was amde to change the meeting time to 6 p.m. by Schnarr and seconded by Beth Kersteins. All voted in favor, and the meeting changed to the first Monday of the month at 6 p.m.
Fall conference will be Sept. 25-27. The next unit meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. The charter was draped for deceased members Clara Mae Frick and Lucille Reckelhoff. Closing prayer was given by Trill, and the meeting adjourned by Messier.
