American Legion Auxiliary Unit 147September 17, 2020
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 147 met Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. President Sherri Messier called the meeting to order and the opening prayer was read by Chaplain Linda Trill. A moment of silence in memory of our fallen MIAs and POWs was observed. The Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble to the Constitution of the ALA were recited.
The reading of the minutes was dispensed, with a motion from Vickie Welp and seconded by Stacey Reuber. All agreed. The treasurer report was given by Messier in the absence of the treasurer.
Membership cards are in. Please pay as soon as possible. Thanks to Stacey Reuber for making a Poppy Wreath that will be distributed to a nursing home in honor of our Veterans. Suzanne Neukam read a thank you note from Support Our Troops for the coupons for our Military families. Anyone having coupons, current or expired, can bring to the Legion for the Auxiliary for distribution. We are still needing volunteers at the Bingo on Wednesdays.
A motion by Stacey Reuber to donate to the IVH Cemetary Chapel project and to Lucas Place II. Suzanne Neukam will send cards to the Police and Fire Fighters for 9/11. We also made a motion to donate to the American Emergency Fund.
Next meeting is Monday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m. and the District meeting will be Sept. 13 at Elberfeld. Closing prayer was given by Trill and the meeting adjourned by Messier.
