American Legion Auxiliary Unit 147
November 17, 2020The Nov. 2 meeting was called to order, opening prayer was given by Chaplain Linda Trill, Moment of Silence in Memory of our fallen MIAs and POWs was observed, Pledge of Allegiance and Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxillary was recited. Meeting was declared convened by President Sherry Messier.
Reading of minutes was dispensed. Motion was made by Stacy Reuber, seconded by Beth Kersteins and all agreed, motion was carried. Treasury report was given by Beth Kersteins.
The presidents project this year is to donate communication tablets for residents of IVH. Poppy wreaths that will be given to local nursing homes were collected. Pictures were taken and will be posted on the web. Vote was taken to cancel Christmas meal, motion was made by Stacy Reuber, seconded by Beth Kersteins, motion carried. There will be no catered meal at the 12/7/20 meeting. Motion was made by Stacy Reuber to donate to IVH for Christmas gifts for our four residents and to donate to the cart, this was seconded by Renee Beuchlein, all agreed and motion was carried. Reminder was made to please vote on Nov. 3 and to remember Veterans on Nov. 11.
Next meeting will be on Monday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. Next district meeting will be on Nov. 15 at Charlestown and Christmas Party will be at Ferdinand on Dec. 5.
Charter was draped for deceased auxiliary member Flora Phillipy.
Closing prayer given by Chaplain Linda Trill then meeting declared adjourned by President Sherry Messier.
