Almost Full Moon Hike announced

FERDINAND — The Almost Full Moon Hike takes place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Ferdinand State Forest. Participants can hike 2.5- or 5.5-mile guided trails with moderate to challenging terrain. 

Participants should register no later than 6:30 p.m. at the shelterhouse located past the dam and property office near the youth camping area. Head lamps or flashlights are encouraged.

This family-friendly event features a campfire, hot chocolate and coffee. Dogs on leashes are allowed.

Entry is free, however, participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Dubois County Food Bank.

This event is sponsored by DC Multisport, an organization that fosters group training, race, education and recreation opportunities among its members, while giving back to the local communities.

Ferdinand State Forest is located at 6583 E. State Road 264.
