Alberta Sturgeon, 85, Schnellville
December 7, 2020Alberta Sturgeon, age 85, of Schnellville, Indiana, passed away at 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2020, in The Timbers of Jasper, in Jasper, Indiana.

Alberta was born in Dubois County, Indiana, on March 4, 1935, to Albert and Matilda (Steffen) Englert. She married Gerold Sturgeon on June 30, 1956, in Nashville, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2011.
Alberta was a cook at the Brown Derby Bar and Restaurant in Schnellville and worked at the Jasper Glove Factory for several years.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish - Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana, and the Schnellville Community Club and a past member of the Schnellville Conservation Club.
She enjoyed cooking.
Surviving are two children, Stanley Sturgeon, Dubois, IN, Bonnie (Jim) Fettes, Birdseye, IN, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one sister, Leah Birk, Birdseye, IN.
Preceding her in death besides her husband, are three children, David Sturgeon, Nancy Buechlein, and Joseph Sturgeon, and one grandson.
A grave site and burial service for Alberta Sturgeon will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Schnellville, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish.
