Alarm sends firefighters to Sisters of St. Benedict

FERDINAND — An alarm activation early Thursday sent the Ferdinand Volunteer Fire Department to the Sisters of St. Benedict, 802 E. 10th St.

No fire was associated with the 4:28 a.m. callout, according to Fire Chief John Hoppenjans. Instead, Hoppenjans said a faulty vent detector was located in an office area.

Three trucks and eight firefighters were on the scene 30 minutes.
