Accused porch bandit charged

From Local Sources

JASPER — A man originally taken into custody Dec. 28 on a shoplifting warrant has now been charged in connection with a pre-Christmas theft from a Jasper resident’s porch.

Footage captured on a doorbell camera led to the identification of Jace T.G. McKinney, 21, 4863 E. Jasper-Dubois Road, Dubois, as the suspect in the Dec. 13 theft from a Jasper porch, according to the Jasper Police Department.

Court documents allege McKinney took various items of merchandise valued at $166.24 from the porch. An arrest warrant in the case was issued last week in Dubois Superior Court and was served on McKinney, who is still being held in the Dubois County Security Center following his previous warrant arrest.
