JASPER — A Saturday accident in Jasper involving a car and motorcycle led to minor injuries and damages.

Dennis Lewis, 69, of Jasper, was on 20th Street making a left turn onto St. Charles Street, attempting to begin traveling south. Jesse Breyette, 63, of Jasper, was traveling north on St. Charles Street approaching 20th Street. As Lewis pulled onto St. Charles Street, he did not see Breyette coming and hit his brakes. Breyette hit his brakes and jumped off his bike to avoid collision with Lewis. Breyette laid over and slid toward Lewis but never hit the vehicle.

Breyette was treated at the scene for road rash on both arms, elbows and left knee. Breyette’s motorcycle had about $1,000 in damages. The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office and Ireland First responders assisted at the scene.
