Accident damages vehicles

JASPER — A Wednesday morning accident at Fifth and Clay streets damaged two vehicles.

At 9 a.m., Kathleen H. Schneiders, 68, Ferdinand was driving west on Fifth Street approaching a stop sign while Rodney W. Allen, 41, Loogootee, was driving north on Clay Street. Schneiders failed to stop at the stop sign at Clay and Allen didn’t have enough time to stop, Jasper Police reported. Allen’s 2002 Dodge Durango struck Schneiders’ 2015 Ford Edge on the driver’s side, police said

The accident caused about $4,000 in damages to Schneiders’ Ford and $3,000 in damages to Allen’s Durango. Police cited Schneiders for failure to stop at a stop sign. Uebelhor & Sons assisted with the incident.
