PORTERSVILLE — An accident last week along a county road south of Portersville damaged the car involved, one household’s mailbox and another’s driveway culvert.
Susan J. Potts, 52, Haysville, was westbound on County Road 700N in a 2008 Mercury Sable when the 9:20 a.m. mishap occurred 500 feet west of County Road 200W on Monday, Oct. 21, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Potts said she looked away from the roadway to change a radio station and, when she did, her car went off the north side of the roadway. The Mercury struck and destroyed a mailbox, then continued west where it struck and damaged another property owner’s driveway culvert.
There were no injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
A Ruxer Ford wrecker towed the Mercury.
Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
