JASPER — One motorist was ticketed after a three-vehicle accident Friday on Jasper’s north side.
John Divine, 62, Loogootee, was southbound on U.S. 231 in a 2009 Dodge truck when the 8:27 a.m. accident occurred at 36th Street, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Witnesses said the traffic light had turned red for north-south traffic and a 2006 Ford Econoline E-250 that was facing east on 36th Street proceeded into the intersection on a green traffic signal.
The van, driven by Terry Gobert, 58, Jasper, was struck by the Divine Dodge, which had continued into the intersection.
The Gobert Econoline then slid across the intersection and struck a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Nathan Hawkins, 40, Jasper, according to police. The Hawkins Chevrolet had been facing west on 36th Street.
Damage was estimated at $12,500 to the Gobert Ford, $1,000 to the Divine Dodge and $500 to the Hawkins Chevrolet.
There were no reported injuries.
An officer cited Divine for disregarding a traffic signal.
A Ruxer Ford wrecker assisted.
