Academic teams compete at Purdue

The Heritage Hills High School academic teams competed in the Indiana Academic Super Bowl Competition on May 4 at Purdue University. 

The interdisciplinary team was state runner-up, which consisted of Makynsie Bancroft, Katelynn Myers, Ethan Roos and William Strobel. The interdisciplinary round of competition posed questions on the academic areas of English, science, social studies, fine arts, and math. Coaches were Meg Johnson, Pam Swader, Mike Guth, Laura Staffeld and Sheila Wahl.

The math team also was a state finalist. Team members were Makynzie Bancroft, Maddy Detzer, Katelynn Myers, Amber Scott and Bradley Vaal. Sheila Wahl was the coach. 

In addition, Heritage Hills High School was awarded a 2019 Top Ten Overall School in Class 3 for the Indiana Academic Super Bowl. The top 10 teams in each enrollment class, based on the cumulative score of all six rounds at the area competition, took place at Evansville North High School on April 16.
