The Jasper Police Department was dispatched to the area of Third Avenue and Liberty Street at 4:32 a.m. in regard to a man calling 911 several times stating he was lost.
Officers arrived to find Jesse A. Myers, 36, 107 N. Washington St., Dale, standing in the middle of the intersection.
Myers told police he had been operating an orange scooter and had been drinking at bars earlier. He was unsure where the scooter was, according to police.
The 2018 Tao Tao scooter was located at Third Avenue and State Road 162, according to police. It was towed by a Bob Luegers Motors wrecker.
Police said Myers’ blood alcohol content tested .102%.
Authorities booked Myers into the Dubois County Security Center at 7:13 a.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated and public intoxication. He was released Wednesday afternoon with the expectation he will appear in court at a later date for an initial hearing.
