Otto and Wilma Jean Begle of Ferdinand are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.
Otto Begle and Wilma Jean Renner were married Nov. 11, 1950 at St. Mary’s Church in Ireland. Fr. Louis Becker officiated.
Attendants were: Magdalene (Renner) Sendelweck, maid of honor; Edwin Begle, brother of groom, best man; Betty (Bellner) Seibert and Shelba (Lambert) Schuetter, nieces of bride, bridesmaids; and Wilfred Gress, groomsman.
The Begle’s are the parents of Scott Begle of Florida, Alan (Diane) Begle and Diane (Randy) Begle of Ferdinand, Gary (Rita) Begle of Evansville, Annette (Dennis) Benson of Virginia, and Kelli (Roger) Smith of Newburgh. They have 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Wilma and Otto were both poultry farmers for 30 years. Otto went on to be an agent at Ferdinand Farmers Insurance for 11 years. They have enjoyed 23 winters of their retirement years mostly in Fort Myers, Florida.
The Begle’s are celebrating their anniversary at 10 a.m. Mass in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church on Sunday, Nov. 15.
