Clarence “Pete” and Ardella Schneider of Ferdinand will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at the American Legion in St. Anthony. The couple requests no gifts.
Clarence “Pete” Schneider and Ardella Persohn were married July 21, 1943, in St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony. Father Alois Fischer officiated.
Mr. and Mrs. Schneider have eight children, Sharon Terry and husband Tony of Silverville, Mary Ann Eckstein of Huntingburg, Randy Schneider and wife Gwen of Kyana, Lonnie Schneider and wife Cheryl of Ferdinand, Myron Schneider and wife Angie of Shelbyville, Ky., and the late Diana, Allen and Don Schneider. They have 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Schneider retired from the Teamsters.
