Elwood and Elsie Abell of Huntingburg observed their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 7, 2017, with a celebration hosted by their children at Hill Haven.
Elwood Abell and Elsie Huff were married Sept. 28, 1957, in Central Christian Church, Huntingburg. The Rev. C.W. Parks officiated at the ceremony.
Their attendants were Marilyn (Abell) Wollenmann and Elbert Huff.
The couple has seven children, Wesley Abell, Brett Abell, Penny Huff and Monica Dell, all of Huntingburg; Doug Abell of Ferdinand; Missy Welp of Birdseye; and the late Jill Ingle. They have 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Abell is retired from IMI. Mrs. Abell was a self-employed homemaker.
Their retired years have been spent gardening, quilting, pulling garden tractors and supporting their grandchildren in various activities.
