60 years: Don and Margie Astrike

Mr. and Mrs. Don Astrike will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day. 

Donald Jerome Astrike and Margie Lee Luker were married on Nov. 28, 1959, in Salem United Church of Christ, Huntingburg. The Reverend Fred Fahrenkamp officiated the ceremony. Their attendants were Phyllis (Tormohlen) Luker, Janice (Kemp) Jochim, Charles Astrike, Jr., George Astrike, Bob Eble, and Dave Stetter.

The Astrikes have three daughters, Debbie of Nashville, Tennessee, Janet (Clai) Putney of Columbus and Cheryl (Mike) Hinton, Indianapolis. They have two grandchildren.

Mr. Astrike owned and operated a gas and service station at the corner of 5th and Main Streets, Huntingburg, is a bus driver for the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation, and is the Patoka Township Trustee.  Mrs. Astrike is a retired registered nurse, having worked at both St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg and Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Friends and family are invited to join the couple in celebrating their Diamond Anniversary at an open house to be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, in the Parish Hall of Salem United Church of Christ, Huntingburg.
