50 years: Tom and Penny Spangler

Tom and Penny Spangler of Jasper will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 17, with a family dinner in Jasper.
Tom Spangler and Penny Knowles were married in a 7 p.m. candlelight service on Oct. 17, 1970, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe, Michigan. Rev. Raymond Malotky officiated.
A reception at the local Holiday Inn followed the ceremony and the couple's honeymoon was a week spent in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
The Spanglers are the parents of Amy Haas of Jasper and Thomas Andrew (Amanda) Spangler of Indianapolis. They have five grandchildren: Dakota (Melissa) Traylor, Devon (Olivia Wampler) Traylor, Abbey (Collin) Snyder, Noah Spangler and Luke Spangler. They have three great-grandchildren: Justin Brown, Madison Kate Traylor and Carter Elizabeth Snyder.
Penny is employed at Ride Solution and Tom is owner and president of L.U.I.+PLUS.
Once COVID-19 is no longer a threat, the Spanglers are planning a cruise to Hawaii.
