50 years: Ronald and Kathleen Kluemper

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Kluemper of Jasper celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 14 with a 5 p.m. Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, Jasper. Father Ronald Kreilein officiated and gave a special blessing to the couple with their children gathered around them. All of the couples’ grandchildren participated in the service. Music was provided by Jane Persohn and Jennifer Kluemper.

Following the Mass the couple’s children hosted a celebration at Moose Lodge 1175 in Jasper, with dinner being served at 7 p.m. Mrs. Kluemper’s wedding gown was on display and the cake was cut with the same engraved knife the couple used at their wedding reception.

Ronald “Ronnie” Kluemper and Kathleen “Kathy” Schulte were married on Sept. 13, 1969, in St. Bernard Catholic Church, Rockport. Rev. Donald Spaulding officiated at the ceremony. Their attendants were Connie Schulte Pierce, maid of honor; Irene Eckerle, Cindy Schulte Painter and Debby Page Weber, bridesmaids; David Kluemper, best man; Pete Schulte, Danny Mehringer and Cliff Krodel, groomsmen; Denise Goffinet Caskey, miniature bride; Charles Eckerle, miniature groom; and Paul Schulte and Mike Goffinet, altar servers.

The Kluempers are the parents of Steven (Heather) Kluemper, East Lansing, Michigan ; Mark (Marsha) Kluemper, Vicki (Mike) Summerlot and Daryl (Jennifer) Kluemper, all of Jasper; and Jill (Dave) Duttlinger, Wheatfield. They have 16 grandchildren.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Kluemper are retired.
