50 Years: Gene and Barb HopfJune 11, 2021
Gene and Barb Hopf of Ireland will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a Mass of Thanksgiving at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 20 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland.
Gene Hopf and Barb Brosmer were married on June 24, 1971 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland.
Their attendants were Beth (Brosmer) Bawel, Doris (Hopf) Harris, Bonnie (Lechner) Schwenk, Mike Hopf, Steve Hopf, Donnie Schwenk, and Tom Lechner, Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. Hopf are the parents of three children; Amy (Duane) Hopf and Dawn “Missy” (Alex) Rodriguez of Jasper; and Shaun (Carrie) Hopf of Brownsburg. They have six grandchildren; Sami, Jesse, Benjamin, and Brittany Hopf, Grace Helming, and Susan Rodriguez.
Mr. Hopf is semi-retired. He was co-owner of Cyclone Shop, Inc. and a part-time farmer. He was also a Dubois County Commissioner for eight years.
Mrs. Hopf recently retired after 38 years as Ireland Elementary School secretary/treasurer.
