50 years: Edward and Joan Pfister

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pfister of Jasper will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 14 with a dinner for invited guests at the Schnitzelbank in Jasper, hosted by their sons and daughters-in-law.

Edward Pfister and Joan Vollmer were married Sept. 14, 1963, in St. Joseph Church. The late Msgr. Roman Vollmer, brother of the bride, officiated. Their attendants were Robert Vollmer of Evansville, Lucille Weisheit McClendon of Caddo Mills, Texas and the late Leon and Terry Pfister, Orville Mehringer, Justine Vollmer, Henrietta Vollmer and Alvin Brenner Jr.

Mr. and Mrs. Pfister are the parents of three sons, Dr. Jude “Matthew” Pfister and wife Miriam of Whippany, N.J., and Paul Pfister and wife Michelle and Dr. Greg T. Pfister and wife Angela, both of Jasper. They have three grandchildren.

Mr. Pfister retired from Indiana Furniture after 40 years. Mrs. Pfister, a nurse, retired from Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, also after 40 years.
