Edward Joseph “Joe” and Gretchen Porter Schitter of Clermont, Florida, will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018.
Joe Schitter and Gretchen Schroedel were married on Feb. 17, 1968, a bright, sunny 20-degree day at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland. Rev. Carl Schetler officiated.
Patrick Schitter of Jasper and Sally Angel of Los Angeles were attendants.
Their parents, Thomas and Sally Schitter of Ireland and George and Mary Jean Schroedel of Kinsman, Ohio, were present, along with family and friends.
They are the parents of one son, John Thomas (Christine) Schitter of Groveland, Florida.
Mr. Schitter retired from Rockwell International, Los Angeles, and Wometco, Miami. Mrs. Schitter retired from United Airlines, Los Angeles, and Presbyterian Retirement Communities, Orlando, Florida.
Mr. and Mrs. Schitter are avid travelers, having completed more than 24 cruises and multiple train and auto vacations.
