Charlie and Gail Eckert of Jasper will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on August 28.
Charlie Eckert and Gail Bueltel were married August 28, 1971 in St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland. The Very Reverend Augustine Edele, O.S.B. (deceased), great uncle of the bride, officiated the ceremony.
Attendants were Janice (Eckert) Mehne (deceased), Phyllis (Eckert) Oeding, Carol (Eckert) Toy, Gloria (Eckert) Bueltel, Linda (Eckert) Goeppner, Krissy (Schitter) Miles, Sarah (Bleemel) Verkamp, Judy (Weyer) Reeves, Reggie Schitter (deceased), Mike Bueltel, John Bueltel, Chuck Bueltel, Ed Eckert (deceased), John Stratman, and Rick Linette (deceased).
Charlie is a retired employee of Jasper Engines and Transmissions and Gail is a retired employee of Masterbrand Cabinets.
The Eckerts are the parents of Craig (Colleen) Eckert of Boonville, Dave Eckert of Jasper, and Audra (Daryl) Dierkes of Westfield. They have five grandchildren, Sydney and Alexa Eckert, Emerson, Norah and Bennett Dierkes.
The Eckerts will celebrate with a 4:30 p.m. Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper on August 28, followed by a dinner for family and invited guests.
