50 years: Bill and Mary Winters

William “Bill” and Mary Winters of Schnellville are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Bill Winters and Mary Knust were married on Nov. 28, 1970, at Sacred Heart Parish in Schnellville. Father Allega officiated.
Attendants were: Suanne (Knust) Larson, maid of honor, sister of the bride and Mike Walton, best man, brother-in-law of the groom. Bridesmaids were Martha (Knust) McCaffry and Ruth (Winters) Walton and groomsmen Ed Knust, Larry Page and John Knust.
The Winterses are the parents of Steve (Anna) Winters of Mishawaka, IN., Christi (Jim) Hinton of Knoxville, TN., Michelle (Rob) DeGraff of Greenwood, IN., and Nick (Amanda) Winters of Schnellville. They have 7 grandchildren; Natalie and Emily Winters, Alex, Sarah, and Maddie Hinton and Ryder and Sydney Winters.
Bill retired from the United States Coast Guard and went on to work with Fischer Electric and Astro Security, from which he retired. Mary is a registered nurse and has retired from Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
The Winterses will celebrate their anniversary with a Mass at Sacred Heart Church on Sunday, Nov. 29.
