From Local Sources
HUNTINGBURG — Police say two vehicles were totaled in a four-vehicle accident Monday morning north of Huntingburg.
Brandon M. Masterson, 23, Grandview, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2006 Chrysler Newport when the 5:40 a.m. accident occurred south of WITZ Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Masterson was among motorists slowing for traffic, which was backing up, according to the sheriff’s office.
A deputy reported that Masterson braked for slowed traffic and, when he did, his Chrysler was rear-ended by a 2012 Toyota Corolla driven by Destiny N. Goffinet, 24, Dale.
The impact sent the Masterson Chrysler into the rear of a 1994 Chevrolet driven by Chris M. Ferguson, 52, Huntingburg, which was pushed into a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Candace J. Oser, 19, Ferdinand, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police said there appeared to be no visible damage to the Ferguson Chevrolet and the Oser Equinox, while the Goffinet Toyota and the Masterson Chrysler were totaled.
There were no injuries.
Police said the highway was blocked off and on for about an hour while the scene was cleared.
A KARS wrecker assisted.
