ELNORA — Four people lost their lives in a Thursday evening crash south of Elnora, in northern Daviess County.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office responded to the injury crash at State Road 58 and Daviess County Road 425E at 6:30 p.m.
Police say a southbound vehicle, for an unknown reason, failed to yield the right of way to a westbound vehicle at the intersection.
The collision resulted in the deaths of all occupants of the southbound vehicle. The dead included two adults and two children. Their families have been notified but the names have not yet been released by the sheriff’s office.
The driver of the westbound vehicle was transported to Daviess Community Hospital with a head injury, police said.
Indiana State Police, the Odon Town Marshal, Elnora Volunteer Fire Department, the Daviess County Coroner’s Office and Southwest Ambulance assisted.
