BRETZVILLE — Three people were taken by ambulance after a head-on crash Wednesday morning at the Bretzville Junction.
Sarah Cox, 49, English, was westbound on State Road 64 in a Saturn Vue when the 6:10 a.m. accident occurred at the Bretzville Junction, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies said Cox failed to yield the right of way when she turned into the lane of travel of an eastbound Ford Ranger driven by Jose Gonzalez, 48, Huntingburg.
Cox, Gonzalez and a passenger in the Gonzalez Ford, Alba Vazquez, 52, Huntingburg, suffered injury and were transported to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for treatment, according to the sheriff’s department. A hospital spokeswoman said Cox was treated and released and Vazquez was transferred to another facility. There was no additional information on Gonzalez.
Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
The St. Anthony Volunteer Fire Department, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and a Berg’s Garage wrecker assisted.
