HUNTINGBURG — Three individuals were booked into the Dubois County Security Center this week on warrants charging them with neglect of a dependent and animal cruelty.
The charges stem from a Huntingburg Police Department investigation initiated April 15 when the Dubois County Department of Child Services requested police assistance investigating allegations of neglect.
The investigation determined juveniles were endangered by conditions documented by authorities and dogs were neglected.
Cherokee R. Eckert, 24, Skyler R. Fox, 25, and Heather R. Ice, 49, all of 409 E. Fifth St., Huntingburg, have each been charged with two Level 6 felony counts of neglect of a dependent and two misdemeanor counts of cruelty to an animal.
Arrest warrants in the case were issued Monday out of Dubois Circuit Court and all three individuals were booked into the security center that day. The trio made initial appearances in court Monday and were released on their own recognizance with their next court dates set for July 16.
