JASPER — Nearly $20,000 in damage was reported after a two vehicle crash Sunday in Jasper.
Around 8:44 a.m. Sunday, a 2012 For F-150 driven by Nick Messmer of Huntingburg was traveling south on U.S. 231, was approaching the intersection with First Avenue and slowed to make a right turn onto the avenue. A 2019 Buick Envoy driven by David Weisman of Jasper attempted to pass the Ford on the highway's right shoulder and struck the Ford's right front bumper and tire with the front bumper of the Envoy.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
Approximate damage to each vehicle was $10,000 and both were towed from the scene.
Weisman was issued a citation for improper passing on the right.
