HILLHAM — A tow was needed for two of the vehicles involved in a three-vehicle mishap Wednesday afternoon west of Hillham.
Kaci D. Minton, 34, Dubois, was eastbound on State Road 56 in a 2011 Jeep Liberty when the 4:34 p.m. accident occurred east of County Road 960E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Minton had stopped in traffic to make a left turn when her SUV was rear-ended by a 2005 Toyota Tundra driven by Kenneth E. Sanders, 59, Paoli, according to a deputy. The deputy noted that Minton’s turn signal was activated and her brake lights were visible at the time of the collision.
Melissa J. Joffee, 34, French Lick, who was trailing in a 2011 BMW 328i, reported she did not see any brake lights or slowing by the Sanders truck before the collision, which she was unable to avoid. Her car rear-ended the Sanders Tundra.
A Uebelhor & Sons wrecker towed the Sanders Tundra and the Joffee BMW, according to the sheriff’s office.
Total damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
