From Local Sources
JASPER — One driver received a pair of tickets following a two-car collision Tuesday afternoon at 14th and Main streets.
Seth D. Pruett, 19, Jasper, was eastbound on 14th Street in a 2007 Pontiac G6 at the time of the 4:26 p.m. mishap, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Pruett stopped his car at the Main Street intersection and told police he did not see an approaching 2015 Toyota Corolla that was northbound on Main Street because it was in his blind spot.
Police said Pruett pulled into the intersection and drove into the driver’s side of the Corolla, which was driven by Amos C. Buschkoetter, 16, Jasper.
Damage was estimated at $4,000 to the Pruett Pontiac and $2,500 to the Buschkoetter Toyota.
An officer cited Pruett for driving while having never been licensed and failing to yield the right of way.
