JASPER — Police took two Kentucky men into custody during a traffic stop early Saturday in Jasper.
The Jasper Police Department stopped a Toyota passenger car driven by Kyle P. Etienne, 27, Louisville, Kentucky, at 1:20 a.m. after Etienne allegedly failed to signal a turn at 17th and Newton streets.
Police said Etienne’s blood alcohol content then tested .15 percent at the Jasper Police Station.
While the vehicle was being inventoried prior to being towed, police said, officers allegedly located marijuana and paraphernalia that included a grinder.
Etienne and a passenger, Jonathon D. Speis, 32, also of Louisville, were preliminarily charged with misdemeanor counts of marijuana possession and possession of paraphernalia. Etienne was additionally charged with a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
Both men were booked into the Dubois County Security Center before posting bond later Saturday.
