JASPER — A Jasper man was killed today when the boom lift he was using to install lights at Jerry Brewery Alumni Stadium overturned.

Another man in the lift, Kurt D. Brescher, 60, of Velpen was injured in the accident and remains at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
According to the Jasper Police Department, at approximately 12:06 p.m., police responded to the football stadium, 415 E. Fourth St., and assisted Memorial EMS and Jasper first responders with the report of two individuals who were injured from the fall.
Upon arrival, officers located the two men who had been thrown from the boom lift. It is believed that they were bringing the lift back down to the ground and for an unknown reason the lift tipped and fell, from approximately 40 feet.
