2 excel in 10th Street spelling bee

JASPER — Tenth Street Elementary School announced that Alysia Dillman was the spelling bee champion. She is the daughter of Shane and Madeline Dillman and a student in Kendra Jasper’s class.

Runner-up was Johnson Dong, son of De Xun Dong and Aixin Fan. Trisha Pfau is his teacher.

Each fifth-grade classroom had an internal competition to determine their top two spellers who would be eligible for the school-wide competition. Competing were Eldrien Bon, Isabella “Bella” Cummins, Elysia Dillman, Johnson Dong, Kayle Guardado Martinez, Korey Holmes, Vincent Huckelby, Tristan King, Elizabeth “Ellie”  Leonard, Nataly Serrano, Mackenzie Walsh and Reagan Weisheit.
