2 arrested during warrant service

HUNTINGBURG — Two Huntingburg men were jailed Sunday, one on an active warrant and one on drug-related accusations.

A warrant charging Steven E. Volz, 53, 514 E. Eighth St., Huntingburg, with misdemeanor battery was issued March 14 in Dubois Circuit Court after the Huntingburg Police Department investigated a March 2 report of an altercation between Volz and a female victim.
While executing the warrant, police allege Lonnie J. Volz, 28, also of 514 E. Eighth St., Huntingburg, was found to unlawfully be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a legend (prescription) drug.
Steven Volz was taken into custody by Indiana State Police on the active warrant and was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 9:56 a.m. Sunday.
Lonnie Volz was booked into the security center at 12:11 p.m. Sunday by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of unlawful possession of a legend drug and a preliminary misdemeanor count of possession of paraphernalia.
Police say Lonnie Volz was also named in an outstanding body attachment warrant.
