2 arrested after Ferdinand shoplifting reportJune 25, 2018

FERDINAND — Police took two individuals into custody Friday after receiving a shoplifting report from CVS Pharmacy, 20 Industrial Park Road.
The Ferdinand Police Department was called at 6:30 p.m. in reference to a report of a male shoplifter at the pharmacy. Officers arriving at CVS were told suspects had left going northbound on State Road 162 in a silver Chevrolet Malibu.
Police stopped a car matching that description at First and Main streets.
After an investigation, Darrell R. Harris Jr., 27, 1210 1/2 Missouri St., was accused of misdemeanor theft for allegedly taking earbuds. Police who booked Harris into the Dubois County Security Center at 7:49 p.m. said he was also preliminarily charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief and possession of marijuana.
The driver of the vehicle, Ashton J. Owens, 20, also of 1210 1/2 Missouri St., was arrested and preliminarily charged with misdemeanor counts of minor in possession of alcohol and minor consuming after his BAC allegedly registered .03 percent. Police said Owens, who was booked into the security center at 7:28 p.m., was also wanted on a probation revocation out of Spencer County.
