FERDINAND — Police ticketed a motorist after two SUVs collided Wednesday afternoon at West 23rd Street and Industrial Park Road.
Mark Dotterweich, of Jasper, was attempting to turn south from West 23rd Street onto Industrial Park Road in a 2002 Ford Explorer at the time of the 3:55 p.m. accident, according to the Ferdinand Police Department.
Police said Dotterweich did not see a northbound 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer driven by Carla Moen of Dale.
The resulting collision totaled both vehicles, police said.
Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services was called to the scene to check on two juveniles in the Dotterweich Explorer. Police said they were treated for minor scratches and released at the scene.
Police cited Dotterweich for failure to yield the right of way, no insurance and for not having a valid driver’s license.
The Ferdinand Volunteer Fire Department and a Berg’s Garage wrecker also assisted.
