Perhaps not a win, but experience against the state’s best, no doubt.
The Jasper girls golf team managed a 14th-place finish at the 14th annual Trojan Classic on Saturday at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin.
Annie Getzin fired a team-best 80 and Annika Harmon chipped in with a 90 for Jasper, while Madeline Hurst (100), Jessica Rillo (104) and Catherine Bell (113) rounded out the Wildcats’ scorecard.
Penn (298) claimed the top spot ahead of Zionsville (308), Valparaiso (310), Carmel (310) and Hamilton Southeastern (313), while the Wildcats (374) topped four other squads in the 18-team competition.
Jasper will be off until Saturday, when the Wildcats compete in the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational at Champions Pointe Golf Club in Henryville.
