Trivia event raises thousands for foundation

HUNTINGBURG — Trivia buffs raised about $10,500 at the Dubois County Community Foundation’s sixth annual trivia night Saturday at the Huntingburg Event Center.

The event drew more than 350 people, including Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann and Huntingburg Mayor Denny Spinner. This year’s champion was Team WBDC, led by team captain Kelsey Merkel. The team played for the Huntingburg Assistance Endowment and received a $500 contribution for its first-place finish.

Second place went to Einstein’s Prodigies, led by Brent Sternberg, which played for Jasper Public Library Endowment. Finishing third was Brandon Boeglin’s team dubbed Need Some Help Here! They played for the Erin Julian Memorial Fund.

Since its inception, the trivia event has raised nearly $45,00.
