Rupert elected ICGSA president

The Indiana of Girls Coaches Association has elected former Jasper High School softball coach Tom Rupert as its president for 2014-15. Rupert has been an ICGSA member for 15 years and most recently served the vice president. Rupert was voted the state’s coach of the year in softball in 2008 and was also selected as the Softball Coach of the Year for Indiana by the National Federation of High School Sports. He has been involved in women’s athletics in Indiana for over 20 years.

Southridge softball coach Stephanie Fleck has been selected to serve a second term as the ICGSA District 5 softball representative. Fleck will coordinate the District 5 all-state and all-district softball nominations.

The ICGSA began in 1972 and represents each of the IHSAA’s 10 sanctioned girls sports in Indiana.
