From Herald Staff Reports
Turns out Good Friday is good for golfers as well.
Just ask the Forest Park boys team.
With a pair of personal-best nine-hole scores, the Rangers shot a season low in an 184-186 win over Pike Central on Friday at Prides Creek Golf Course in Petersburg.
Matt Miller knotched Forest Park’s top score with a 44 in the best outing of his career. Addison Weyer also shot a personal best at 45. Winston Glenn (46), Drew Weyer (49) and Bryce Brosmer (50) rounded out the Rangers’ top five.
Forest Park will host Springs Valley and Orleans on Tuesday.
Titans 9, Rangers 0: Forest Park was no-hit for its first shutout of the season against Martha Layne Collins High School in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
Three Ranger pitchers surrendered 12 hits to the Titans, who lost in the quarterfinals of last spring’s Kentucky state tournament.
Five Forest Park errors didn’t help the Rangers’ cause as the Titans built a 4-0 lead after two innings and added three more in the fourth frame.
The Rangers (1-3) will continue their Kentucky road trip with a matchup today against Bullitt Central in Shepherdsville before returning to the Hoosier state with a visit to Castle on Tuesday.
