Patriots down rival RaidersAugust 16, 2013
From Herald Staff Reports
In a tight match between local rivals, Eryn Jochim took charge.
The Heritage Hills sophomore secured medalist honors with a 48 and the Patriots (244) clipped Southridge (257) at a triangular match with Boonville on Thursday at Boonville Country Club. The Pioneers did not have enough golfers to compile a team score.
Taylor Seufert fired a 57 for the Raiders, but Jochim’s score combined with those of Ashleigh Gideon (65), Caroline Guth (65) and Riley Spencer (66) proved sufficient for the Patriots. Chloe Huff (64), Rosa Ornelas (67) and Meagan Weitkamp (69) rounded out the Raiders’ scorecard.
The Patriots will clash with Evansville Bosse and Evansville Mater Dei today at Frendrich Golf Course while Southridge has a four-day respite before hosting the Patriots and Pike Central on Tuesday.
Blackhawks 198, Rangers 208: Forest Park shaved nine strokes off its team score from the previous day but Springs Valley edged the Rangers at Christmas Lake Golf Course in Santa Claus.
Brie Englert led Forest Park with a 48, Amie Weyer notched a 51, Ashley Reckelhoff gathered a 52 and Rachel Metz snatched a 57 for the Rangers, who will face Jasper and Heritage Hills on Monday in a three-way meet at Christmas Lake.
