N. Ind. teen’s cause of death still not known

By The Associated Press

WARSAW — A northern Indiana coroner says he couldn’t determine during an autopsy the cause of death of an 18-year-old woman whose remains were found more than a year after she was reported missing.

Kosciusko County Coroner Michael Wilson says the remains of Aurora Shoemaker of Warsaw are being sent to the University of Indianapolis for further analysis.

She was last seen in August 2012 after leaving her mother’s home for a walk. Her remains were found Sunday about 500 yards from her home by teenagers playing in the woods.

Wilson says it likely will be about a month before any further information is available.
