BASEBALL SECTIONAL
Vikings 11, Rangers 5: Forest Park's season ended with a first-round loss in the Class 2A sectional at League Stadium in Huntingburg. The game was delayed for 30 minutes in the fourth inning because of rain. The Rangers and Vikings were deadlocked at 1 through four innings before   North Posey rallied for four runs in the top of the fifth. Forest Park countered with four runs in the bottom of the frame to again knot the score. But North Posey landed the knockout by racking up six runs in the sixth. The Vikings finished with 17 hits against six Forest Park pitchers. Damon Wilmes doubled twice for the Rangers (12-14), Bryan Hurst cranked a two-run double and Adam Braunecker added a double. Ben Wendholt singled, doubled and drove in two runs.

Jeeps 6, Trojans 2: Chad Hoffman bombed a three-run homer in the sixth inning and Northeast Dubois dismissed Wood Memorial (4-18) from the Class 1A sectional in Oakland City. Cameron Riecker wallopped a solo homer in the first inning, and Kristopher Weisheit tossed a five-hitter to earn the win for the Jeeps (14-12), who advance to tonight's championship game against Tecumseh.
