Father Gary Kaiser witnessed the marriage vows of Morgan Detzer and Zachary Erny, both of Jasper, on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, in Precious Blood Catholic Church, Jasper. The double ring ceremony took place at 2 p.m. The church was decorated with mums.
Dwayne and Shannon Detzer of Chrisney and Brenda Gogel of Jasper are parents of the bride. Mr. Erny is the son of Thomas and Karen Erny of Jasper.
Organist Dan Racicot accompanied Bonnie Pinney as she sang “From This Moment On,” “The Rose,” “Keeper of the Stars,” “Wind Beneath My Wings,” “A Parent’s Prayer,” “God Gave Me You,” “I Have Loved You,” “Prayer of St. Francis” and “How Beautiful.”
Lectors were Alana Wehr and Brittany Giles, cousins of the bride. The offertory gifts were carried by Susan Hopf and Don Detzer, godparents of the bride, and Jan Uebelhor and Glenn Goeppner, godparents of the bridegroom. Jamie Clauss, cousin of the bridegroom, was Eucharistic minister. Trevor and Wyatt Goeppner, cousins of the bridegroom, were servers.
Programs were distributed by Jessica and Jarrett Hopf, cousins of the bride.
Mr. Detzer gave his daughter in marriage. The bride chose a strapless, trumpet-style gown of ivory beaded lace with a sweetheart neckline, a shirred tulle bodice and a sweep train. A mid-length ivory veil had metallic edging with pearls and crystals. The bride carried a fall bouquet of ivory and orange roses; purple, yellow and cranberry mums; berries; and greenery.
Mallory Goepfrich of Jasper, friend of the couple, was maid of honor. Also attending the bride were Audra Lueken of Schnellville and Hannah Erny of Jasper, sisters of the bridegroom; Rebecca and Jade Detzer, both of Chrisney, sisters of the bride; and Tonia Messmer and Tabitha Bauer, both of Jasper, friends of the couple. Alaina Rust of Santa Claus, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.
They were attired in A-line, avocado dresses with sweetheart necklines and asymmetrical pleated bodices. They carried bouquets of orange roses; purple, yellow and cranberry mums; berries; and greenery.
Mr. Erny chose his brother, Jason Erny of Jasper, as best man. Groomsmen were Matt Lueken of Schnellville, brother-in-law of the bridegroom; Ethan Schroeder of Jasper and Joe Detzer of Chrisney, brothers of the bride; and Brandon Scherle, Landon Rees and Brandon Hulsman, all of Jasper, friends of the couple.
The bride’s mother chose a long gown of ruby iridescent taffeta with a ruched bodice, crisscross straps and a bolero. The bridegroom’s mother wore a long gown of sapphire blue chiffon with a lace bodice and a matching lace jacket.
A reception was held at the Ferdinand Community Center.
The couple is residing at 117 S. 400W, Jasper, after a honeymoon to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The bride graduated from the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, in 2012 with a Master of Science in occupational therapy. She is an occupational therapist at The Timbers of Jasper. Mr. Erny received an associate degree in collision repair and refinishing from Vincennes University in 2008. He is employed by Styline Body and Alignment.
