Meeting: Southeast Dubois Schools


The Southeast Dubois School Board met Wednesday and:

Ӣ Approved the resignations of Brent Sicard as the seventh-grade girls basketball coach, Jeff Durlauf as the assistant girls soccer coach and Grace Mehling and Sarah Rogers as instructional assistants, all at Forest Park Junior-Senior High School, and Jessica Leonard as an instructional assistant at Ferdinand Elementary School.

Ӣ Hired Nicole Loehr as a math teacher and academic coach, MaryLee Berg as a cook, Gina Schuetter as a student council and sophomore class sponsor, Amy Hawkins as assistant girls soccer coach, Emily Hauser as junior high girls track coach and a Beta Club sponsor, Kristy Fleck as a Beta Club sponsor and Abby Tenbarge and Kristin Gayso as instructional assistants, all at the high school; Kelly Schroering as an academic coach at Cedar Crest Intermediate School; and Andy Knies and Michelle VanMeter as instructional assistants and Candi Gehlhausen as a half-time special education teacher and half-time instructional assistant, all at Ferdinand Elementary.

”¢ Heard from Superintendent Rick Allen that the corporation’s federal Title I grant, used to pay for education of low-achieving or special needs students, is down to $66,087, compared to last year’s $71,000 grant.

Ӣ Granted permission to advertise the 2014 budget in the Ferdinand News on Aug. 14 and 21.
