Hydrants being flushed this week

From local sources

JASPER — Jasper Water Department workers are flushing city hydrants today and will continue the process for the next several weeks. Flushing is being done from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today through Friday as part of the spring maintenance program, the department announced in a press release.

Water will be safe to drink, department officials said. But if water is cloudy or colored, residents should run the cold water tap until the water clears. Customers should use their own discretion when doing laundry because the clothes may become discolored, officials said.

Any questions about the program can be directed to the water department at 482-5252.
