Downtown, riverfront proposal online

From local sources

JASPER — The proposal for the City of Jasper’s downtown and riverfront master plan is available online.

The plan will be presented to the city plan commission next week for consideration as part of the city’s comprehensive plan, a decision ultimately up to the city council. The commission will review the plan at its Dec. 4 meeting, which starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 610 Main St.

Consultants CityVisions of Louisville and Gamble and Associates of Boston conducted interviews and led public meetings to get suggestions to create the proposal.

The plan focuses on improving the courthouse Square, enhancing the riverfront area, reusing former industrial properties, connecting the downtown and riverfront areas and integrating public art.

It can be viewed online here or by clicking in the “Document Center,” which is under the “Online Services” tab on the city’s website, www.jasperindiana.gov.
