Contested races set; familiar names not on list

From local sources

May’s primary election will feature nine contested races in Dubois County, but two familiar names will not be on the ballot.

Shane Lindauer, a Jasper Republican who represents District 2 on the Dubois County Council, will move to another part of the county, precluding him from running for the seat he won in 2010.

Mark Brescher, an Ireland Democrat who represents District 1 on the Dubois County Council, has chosen not to seek re-election. Brescher has served on the council for 12 years. Before joining the council, he served as the county auditor for eight years.

“I just feel that’s long enough,” Brescher said. “Let’s get some fresh, new people in there.”
