City to hold auction

JASPER — The City of Jasper will hold a public auction Saturday morning.

The auction will start at 8:30 a.m. at the street department, 305 Clay St. People may arrive as early as 7 a.m. to peruse items.

Dozens of items that have been declared surplus by city departments or have been left unclaimed in lost and found boxes will be available for purchase. The items include two-way radios, fencing, tools and light poles as well as televisions, video games, digital music players, DVD and VHS movies, CDs, books, clothes and jewelry. A golf cart and a salt spreader are also on the auction list.

Hoffman & Mullen Auctioneers of Jasper will shepherd the auction. All items will be sold as are and must be paid for that day. Proceeds will go to the city departments that contributed the items.
